Domestic Violence
Protective Orders
The 1997 Nevada Legislature ordered Nevada courts to begin forwarding Domestic Violence Protective Orders to the Criminal History Records Repository, which is responsible for making this information available to police officers in the field. The state Supreme Court has set the reporting standards for the 109 lower courts that issue protective orders. Police will be able to confirm that a Protective Order was issued against a suspect. They will also receive the terms and conditions of the order.
